How To Start An Internet Business – Designing For Usefulness

Most people who want to do something new online start by looking for a business plan. There is nothing wrong with that, but the internet is a powerful tool that can be used in many ways that are not covered by traditional business plans. One example of this is design services, such as logo designs, website templates and more. This article should help answer some questions about how to start an internet business.
Introducing my guest blogger, Chris "Artassist" Malloy . His blog can be found at: http://www.artassist.com/. He's a freelance artist in San Antonio, Texas and has worked with clients all over the world. His goal is to help others by founding a design service for newbies like himself. Here are some of the questions he will answer on this post:
Q: How would you describe your art style? A: The three words that come to mind when I think about my art style are adorable , quirky and sweet . If you've seen any of my work, you'll know that I enjoy drawing cartoon characters with a touch of realism. I've been doing art for years but have only recently begun to focus on creating digital illustrations for clients. Q: What kind of sites do you usually design? A: Currently I've been focusing on web design and logo designs, which make up most of my clientele. However, in the future I hope to slowly expand into other areas such as apparel and print work.
Q: Do you have any background in website design? A: Not really, although I have an art degree from Oklahoma State University and a background in various computer applications. Q: Did you create the site yourself? A: No, I did not create Clone A Website . I designed the site based upon information provided in a lesson plan by Jerry L. Torrens (JLT).
Q: Is there anything else you'd like people to know? A: Yes! If you're like me and are interested in starting your own internet business, I hope this post will help answer your questions about how to start an internet business. The key is to find something you can really get your teeth into and that would make you dedicated enough to stay with it.
You'll probably need to put in a good amount of work before you start making money. It will be even harder if you don't have any background in the area that you chose to go into, but that won't stop you from learning new skills. If you want this sort of thing to be worth it, then make sure that the passion is really there and that you're going to have enough drive for it. Q: What would be your #1 piece of advice for people who want to start an internet business?
A: Find out what works for you and suit yourself. So many newbies think that they have to start a blog, a forum, do "keyword research" (i.e. set up PPC ads) and more just because they saw someone else doing it online. Don't waste your time with things that don't apply to you or your personal style of business. One thing I have learned is that there is no "perfect" way of doing things – just find the path that works best for you!
