Planning the perfect spring break trip can be a lot of work, but the payoff is worth it. The relaxation and fun that you get from your time off is well worth what little effort it requires to make it happen. To help you plan for your next vacation this spring, here are some fantastic ways to connect with your family while still having tons of fun.

1) Try an activity you've never done before
- Try something new! This gives everyone a great opportunity to enjoy themselves while staying active. You may find out that you really enjoy this new activity and want to add it to your normal routine.

2) Cook a special meal
- Everyone loves getting together in the kitchen, creating something special that everyone can enjoy together later during the spring break trip. This is also a fun way to get everyone working together on a project or goal.

3) Do something you love doing while teaching your children to love it also- Nothing is more fun than watching your children slowly fall in love with what you already know and love. They will learn and experience many new things during their childhood, but not always on their own terms. Give them the chance to look at the same things you do with a fresh perspective.

4) Plan a trip you've talked about doing for years- This is a great way to reconnect with your family in an amazing new place. If this place has always been on your list, make it happen!

5) Research new places to visit- There are so many new places to see and go on spring break, make sure you spend some time researching before you leave. You'll be sure not to miss out on anything exciting during your trip.

6) Enjoy some alone time- Everyone needs a little time for themselves. Even if you're going somewhere with your family, it's okay to set some time aside for yourself. This is a great way to remember what you like about yourself and how to continue to improve.

7) Relax and enjoy your surroundings- Sometimes the best part of vacation isn't doing something exciting, but actually just enjoying the moment. Whether it be in a new place or in your own backyard, everyone needs to see the beauty of springtime.

8) Plan an event for several days in one place- If possible, consider going somewhere for multiple days where you can enjoy many different activities available there during that time period. This is a great way to spend time with everyone in one place for an extended period of time.

9) Take in some local attractions- Everyone should experience the local attractions of a new place they visit. Whether it be a famous site or a simple snack stand, it's important to do what the locals do. You'll come back home with even more stories to tell from your spring break trip.

10) Plan something you can all agree upon- No one wants vacation plans that are dominated by arguments and fighting just to get through them. Make sure everyone has some part in planning out the ultimate vacation for your spring break trip.

11) Be spontaneous- If you find yourself in an area where you can be spontaneous and try new things, take advantage of it. You'll always remember the surprising parts of your trip and have something to share with others later on.

12) Do something educational- While this doesn't need to be the main focus of your trip, it's a great way to keep everyone involved while doing something they enjoy. You can spend some time learning about local flora or fauna, or even learn more about the region you're visiting.

13) Make friends with people that are staying there- This is a great way for everyone to experience another culture first hand. If you want to make a lifelong friend, this is a great way to do it with someone that lives there.

14) Research your destination more- You never know what you might not know about your destination, so always start researching ahead of time. This is the best way to make sure you are going somewhere that will be ideal for your family.

15) Focus on having fun and enjoying yourself- This is the most important part of planning a great spring break trip. Make sure everyone knows this and enjoys what they're doing without worrying too much about anything else happening around them.

I was recently invited to review the new Kids' Gear Organizer from Dollar General, and I was really happy that they offered me this opportunity! They are a large store with an amazing selection of items at all levels of quality, and Walmart is right down the road! The store I shop at now is Dollar General, along with über-popular Walgreens & Wal-Mart -- they are always our go-to shopping destination. Walmart is rather huge, and it's a long way to drive just for groceries.
Here are some of the highlights from the review:
The gingham design is cute - I love little touches like this! The organizer has two roomy compartments that are big enough for shoes, socks, hair bows, and other smaller items. There is also a place for her favorite Barbie or doll (we bought one extra-small Barbie to test out the space in case we decided to buy another doll later on), as well as a mirror that she can hang up in her room.

Conclusion:  We have since added some Barbie accessories, such as a baby stroller, a beach chair, and some shoes, including one pair that has a heel.
We also bought her an extra-small doll to fit inside the organizer and place in the little girl's section of her suitcase. The doll fits perfectly!
The real reason I decided to get this for her is because we have lots and lots of clothes -- way more than she can wear in a day -- but nowhere to put them. We live in a very small home; so small that we have no room for a big dresser or closet.
