 All About Adwords And Adsense

A lot of people have probably heard about adwords and adsense but not everyone knows how it works. Maybe you're just starting on your youtube journey and you want to start monetizing your videos. Or maybe you've been around for a while and want some new options in terms of making money on YouTube. Whatever the case may be, understanding what Adwords is can help with many different aspects of your work. So, let's talk about what exactly it is and how it can help you out!

The Basics: What Is Adwords?
AdWords is Google's advertising platform that allows businesses to share advertisements offering products or services through search engines in a targeted manner.

AdWords was launched in 2001 and came about when Google tried to find a way to promote its own products, as opposed to promoting other people's products. With this in mind, it was decided that advertising on search engine platforms would be the best way to bring traffic and sales to these companies.

Ever since this time, AdWords has changed a lot and grown into the advertising powerhouse that it is today. Now, not only will Adwords help you attract traffic to your website, but it will also help you sell whatever product you are selling. But we'll need to go into more detail about this later!

What Kind Of Ads?
The ads themselves are categorized by product type. The three main categories are:

Search
These are ads shown when you search on Google for a product or service. These are the ones that most people will see. Unfortunately, most of these ads are extremely low quality and don't get very much traffic. There is a ton of competition here so you're going to need to make sure you have an excellent ad that is worthy of showing, if you want any sort of results.

Search Ads Showing Results From Google Search
You can see the search results above. These ads on search results are usually popping up for extremely high-quality products. The best way to attract a lot of traffic here is to be offering a high-quality product that people will want. This is going to be the easiest and best way to make money from AdWords at the moment.

These ads will most likely be showing related searches in the list, but it's up to you if you want them or not. It does do a pretty good job at bringing in traffic, so I can't really complain about that!

Display
These are mainly used by major websites or websites with large followings. They are shown on websites that have the word "Ad" or "ads" in them. Display ads can also be one of the main sources of ad revenue, as you'll be selling something that people are searching for anyway. This is a great way to promote your channels and gain some ad revenue. Check out this article for more information!

These ads will most likely be in your video's description or in a different location on your channel, where they aren't very noticeable to the viewers. You're going to want to make sure that their placement isn't too off and that you have an informative description text that draws the viewer's attention instead of your video's thumbnail image. They're also going to be in a different location for non-video ads.

Text (or Search) Ads
Most people will probably never see these ads on their own. These are similar to search ads in the fact that they are shown when someone is searching for something on Google. Just like with search ads, these texts have large amounts of competition so you'll need to do something pretty incredible if you want them to actually show your ad. Make sure your product is really worth it!

How Does It Work?
When someone searches for a product or service, their query is converted into what's called an "Ad Group". This could contain hundreds or thousands of variations on that specific ad.

Conclusion:
In conclusion, Adwords is a pretty important tool that you should definitely get familiar with. You're going to want to make sure you are getting the most out of the amount of money you get to spend on ads. If you know how it works, then I really recommend experimenting with it and seeing what kind of ads can work for your channel!
