A Website Without Online Marketing: A Fruitless Tree

A Website Without Online Marketing: A Fruitless Tree

If you're in charge of online marketing for a site, chances are you'll be going to great lengths to bring people back. However, there's an alternative that could help you increase traffic, engagement, and revenue with minimal effort.

This is the website without online marketing. A fruitless tree that doesn't grow any fruits because it is devoid of all the websites which cannot do without it. If your website is something like this then its time to rethink what the outside world sees and builds upon it - creating multiple sources of content means we have more ways for people to find our content as well as naturally linking other sites with us.

The more options there are, the better. You can use multiple channels without feeling like you're drowning. To determine what your target audience wants to be shown, you need to ask them and listen to their answers. You need to know what your users want and let them know what they're looking for.

You'll have more than one source of revenue if you give your users lots of options. From coupons on a mobile app through affiliate links through different social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter,...). Users have become instantly familiar with mobile apps and easy to use data feeds; using these will bring high levels of engagement from people who don't even visit your site in its current form.

This is the website without online marketing. This tree, devoid of plums (or content) that won't grow fruit because it doesn't have to.

A website without online marketing: A fruitless tree

A Website Without Online Marketing I say "A Website Without Online Marketing" because my ignorance to the reality of online marketing is beginning to show in my article titles. A lot of people complain about the difficulty in building an audience for their blog - and this complaint isn't really valid when confronted with the idea of a website without online marketing. The impact that different channels have on your site's visibility and traffic is massive. It can be claimed that a website without online marketing is a fruitless tree, but I beg to differ. There are of course many websites out there which cannot grow fruit because they are devoid of online marketing at all - because they lack the passion, creativity and drive to build an audience in the first place. This article isn't about building an audience via blogging though (so much for going down the traditional road of picking a platform and sticking with it). The following are the benefits of building an audience on a social profile: 1) It will help you reach new people who have never seen your work. 2) It will allow you to post links from your website to referrers (or any other social network). 3) It will provide an opportunity for people to follow you and let you know their thoughts on your work. 4) More eyes on your site mean more potential for feedback. 5) You can use this as a source of news or information to share with users via email, Twitter, Facebook pages etc. The following are the costs of building an audience on a social profile: 1) This requires you devoting an hour or so every day. 2) It requires you to be consistent. 3) You need to recognise that this is not a replacement for your main website. If you can do all of these things for the next six months, I promise that you'll see results - if not sooner. A website without online marketing isn't a fruitless tree - it's a seedling which needs to be nurtured and cultivated in order to grow into something great. If you're going to go down the online marketing route and build an audience on lots of different websites then the following are my tips: 1) Use a service like TweetDeck (or similar) and get used to posting links via different social networks on the same day or within the same hour. 2) Post links to your site on Facebook or Twitter as often as you can. 3) Keep the number of social profiles small and limited to the most popular options (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+...). This keeps your audience engagement high and provides you with a good snapshot of what people are interested in. 4) Use these different platforms to post themes and events that will appeal to many different people. A website without online marketing is a seedling: You need to nurture it like any other plant. (What has been your experience with building an audience without online marketing? A Website Without Online Marketing - A Fruitless Tree
New and improved website design. I decided to undertake this project because I had noticed a lot of my previous content was not converting as well as it could, and so I wanted to improve it. The project took a large part of an evening to complete, but the changes have been worthwhile so far. The banner image is still down a bit low on the page (so you can't see it yet unless you scroll down) but this can easily be adjusted through CSS. The header and footer have been changed to fit the new design. You can also see that I have finally got around to getting better images for all of my posts, so let's see how well they do.

A Website Without Online Marketing - A Fruitless Tree
A website without online marketing - a fruitless tree. Such is the case with some of my own work recently; I haven't built an audience yet, but I should really be doing more.

Conclusion: A website lacking an online marketing presence is a fruitless tree.
