4 Secrets to Turn Any Business Into a Successful Web Business - Part 3

Want to turn your business into a successful web business but don't know where to start? Our three previous blog posts have gotten you off on the right foot with making money, marketing, and outsourcing. Today, we'll be focusing on furthering your success by turning your web business into an intranet. You can build it yourself or pay someone to do it for you without any additional cost. Furthermore, by giving employees access to their company's private website and applications they can work better from home or anywhere else in the world when they are not needed in the office.
Intranets are a major avenue for employers to retain top talent. They allow employees to have greater flexibility and control over their productivity, while enabling employers to maximize productivity and capital utilization.
How does this apply to my business?
All companies have some form of intranet already in place and that is beneficial for both sides. However, when you add access from mobile devices like laptops or tablets, the benefits for both sides become magnified. Employees not only can submit orders from these devices, but can also access their company's files, communicate with coworkers/bosses via instant messaging tools like Skype or Google Chat and collaborate on projects (i.e., planning holidays) with their colleagues online. This not only improves productivity, but also serves the purpose of reducing capital costs.
How do I build an intranet?
There are many software makers out there to help you build your own intranet but one of the most popular and widely used is Google Apps/Docs. Google has free options and paid premium options but they are all easy to use and have been used on a large scale by companies with thousands of employees. Another option is to hire a company like InSync Solutions or Smart Owl Networks to create an intranet for you for a monthly fee that fits your company's needs.
