To be a successful web business, you need to have a strong marketing strategy. This is how people find your site (or app). Next up is customer service and support. If people have problems with your product or service or just want some help in general- they're coming here! Finances are also very important because as a business owner you don't want to run out of money. Technical operations is very important as well. You don't want to lose your servers or website- and you definitely don't want someone else stealing them!


Team management is also a VERY important factor in running a successful business. One of the biggest mistakes that I see with many businesses, especially startups, is not having a strong enough team in place to start out with. Team management also extends to careers. People quit jobs and jump ship all the time. Finding, hiring, managing, and training employees can take up a lot of time. No one wants to get locked into some huge commitment that you have no idea how you're going to pay for- or worse yet- manage!


I have always believed that if you want to be successful in any business venture... you need proper planning and organization. It's too much work to be doing everything yourself! You need to know what resources are available to you and where they are located. Put together an honest comprehensive budget that shows exactly where your money will be coming from and where it will be going (this is very important!). I also look at running a web business from a high level. This is not the time to be trying out new things and taking big risks. You need to know what the goals are for your business and if you're hitting those goals, you need to know how to go about sustaining this. If you don't have a plan for growth, then you are going nowhere.


Right now, we're focusing on building your business. How do we do that? We put together a team that has the skills needed, much like any other job role. We have a dedicated marketing team, customer service and support, developers, business development team... and more. That way, we can focus on what we are good at- which is how to build a business.


Lastly, we take care of our employees. This is a key point that many businesses lose sight of. Good employees are hard to come by and even harder to keep! If you want good employees who will stick around and enjoy the job- you need to make them feel appreciated. Having a happy workforce is a key part of having a successful business.
