Aerobic Videos - Whips You Up Into Shape!

If you're like me and you have very little time and energy to exercise, you'll still take every opportunity to get your heart rate up. When it's too cold, dark, or rainy outside, that usually means spending an hour at the gym. But with a few minutes of effort each day with my step machine (or elliptical machine) or just running in place in front of the TV, I get my heart rate up without a lot of extra time or expense.

This article offers some tips about how exercising with aerobics videos can be just as seamlessly integrated into your life as sitting on the couch. It's a topic I've written about before. But here, I share the most current information about two of the newest videos that are scheduled to arrive in stores this week.

The first is Tony Horton's latest release, Focus T25. After creating the mega-popular P90X program, he released P90X2 last year and now has come up with a new series, Focus T25. It's a 25-minute workout that promises results with just three days of exercise per week for less than $100 if you buy it on DVD or just $10 per month if you sign up for Beach Body On Demand (which includes 24/7 access to all of Tony's videos).

I've been trying out the program myself for the last several weeks and can report that it's great. I'm not a professional reviewer, so I won't suggest you should go out and buy it today. But, if you want to see what it's like (and you have the ten minutes to rip off a quick workout in the middle of your day), check out my YouTube video about it here: https://youtu.be/3eZDDu0vB4E .

The second new video is 'Tone It Up,' a series developed by Karena and Katrina, two fitness trainers who became famous on YouTube. It promises to tone you up in just 20 minutes a day. I haven't tried this one yet, but it's getting rave reviews on Amazon and I'm anxious to try it. If you do, drop me a note in the comments about how you like it!

One of the most important things about a video workout is its sound track. Music makes any workout more enjoyable, but it can also make or break your effectiveness as you try to get real results from your exercises. For example, when I used the 'Couch to 5K' running program (which is available on iTunes) last year, the music kept me going when my dogs wanted to be walked and my husband wanted me to sit on the couch with him. The tracks on the Beach Body (and other) videos are just as good for motivating you to keep going. They are also good for breaking up the boredom of an hour long workout, which is sometimes all it takes to get tired and winded.

So whether you're new to working out or you can't seem to get your heart rate up as much exercise as you'd like, there's a video that's right for you. I look forward to sharing them with you in more detail when I've tried them myself!
