Edgar Agent sends a unique visitor to your website everyday, these visitors are real people who are looking for similar content you're posting about on social media or search engines. The software allows you to track the amount of traffic, engagement, leads and ultimately sales that can be generated with each visit it sends to your site.

Edgar Agent sends about 5,000 visits to your website everyday.
- For Edgar Agent to send visitors and track them, you will need to edit the robots.txt on your website.
- After installing the software, adding Edgar Agent as a browser extension or bookmarklet (recommended), log in to Edgar Agent and click on "Edit Robots.txt" on the top corner.
- On the left side of the new page, you should find your website's main URL (ex: https://example.com/). Click it.
- A new popup window should appear with a textbox below "Disallow".
-
- You are now able to type your website's main URL and leave the field empty.
- This is optional but I recommend you do so for preserving the integrity of your website. The software will still send visitors to your site but this acts as a filter to keep out malicious bots.
- You can authenticate your website by typing this URL into the field "Enter Website".
- Your site should now appear in the window and you can scroll down to find "Disallow" section.
- You can now do the same for any of your pages with their main URLs on them.
- After setting up the software, Edgar Agent sends 5,000 visits to your website everyday. It's a good idea to inform your readers a little bit about what it does so you could provide a link here for example - https://edgaragent.com/blog/guide?page=1#disclaimer. &nb...

Edgar Assistant is different from Edgar Agent as it only sends visitors through the website.

- For Edgar Assistant to send visitors and track them, you will need to edit the robots.txt on your website.
I will use the example of my website: https://www.bananakitty.co.uk/blog/guide...
- You can authenticate your website by typing this URL into the field "Enter Website".
- You should now see a screen like on the left side containing your website's main URL with a section named "Disallow".
- Underneath it, you can type and uncomment any of your URLs (ex: https://example.com/blog/, https://example.com/blog/post/).
You can leave them all empty as there will be no visitors sent to those pages.
If you want to send visitors to a specific part of your website (for example, an affiliate page), type the section into the textbox below "Disallow".
- You might also want to add a filter to your blog's RSS feed, comment form or contact us page. This will be useful for any other blog owners as Edgar Assistant does not send visitors to those pages.
- The process is similar to the one above and there is a section named "Feed", "Form" and "Contact".
Conclusion
- Edgar Agent is for free and is useful for small businesses to help them generate leads and sales.
- Edgar Assistant costs $99 per month and is useful for businesses that don't have time to manage their social media accounts, or don't have time to analyze data from their website.
