Canada Plays China Card

 Canada Plays China Card

Canada is playing a China card as it tries to keep its trade advantage.

O Canada, could you please step away from the table?
It’s tempting to think that Canada is making a brilliant move by trying to play China at their own game. After all, they were the first nation to launch free trade with them back in 2001. For many years, that supererogatory gesture has been a key factor in Canada’s success. The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) helped cement this trade relationship even further and Canadian exports have tripled since then, reaching $250 billion in 2015. But with the Trump administration promising to renegotiate the deal and it being a major trading partner with China, Canada is scurrying around trying to find another place to play their China card.

Canada's government gave us the carbon tax, now it's giving us an energy price disclosure scheme as sketchy as Bill C45 Energizing Our Economy Act! https://eosenergygroup.wordpress.com/2017/03/28/canadas-government-gives-us-the-carbon-tax-now-its-giving-us-anenergypricedisclosureschemeasketchyasbillc45e.....

That's right, Canada is already giving us an energy price disclosure scheme. The Energy Efficiency Disclosure Act is a law that requires companies in the oil and gas sector to tell you how much CO2 they're emitting - or have emissions of - if you buy home heating oil, gasoline or diesel. You also have to get it within 10 days of taking delivery of your product from a company. (The government has tried multiple times to push this through, but it's been defeated by the opposition. And by the way, this is all happening despite the fact that there are no credible climate change models that predict more extreme weather.)

The Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB) recently issued a real growth forecast and it's a good one! Will the Liberals get their revenue shortfall? http://mytorontoseo.blogspot.ca/2017/03/the-toronto-real-estate-board.html

I have been predicting that 2017 will be a big year for growth in the economy and real estate market. The Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB) recently issued a topline forecast of 0.5 per cent growth in 2017, which is significantly less than the 1 per cent it was forecasting only two months ago. So what's going on?

Canada's real estate bubble has burst, but house prices in Halifax are still up by 12.6 per cent! http://myhalifaxseo.blogspot.ca/2017/04/canadas-real-estate-bubble-has-burst_14.html

The financial crisis that was predicted in this blog for two years is about to hit Canada, but if you want to read about the real estate bubble bursting in Halifax, Nova Scotia - stay tuned! House prices are still up by 12.6 per cent from a year ago, which is higher than the 7.9 per cent increase that was forecasted in March.

The first real estate market bubble of 2017 is bursting in Halifax - and this time it's going to be bigger than the last! http://mytorontoseo.blogspot.ca/2017/04/the-first-real-estate-market-bubbleof2017....

The first real estate market bubble of 2017 is bursting in Halifax - and this time it's going to be bigger than the last! The amount of money flowing into real estate in the past few months has been extraordinary. As far as I can tell, only four months have passed since the HST (the Canadian federal sales tax) was removed from new home purchases. But apparently that wasn't enough to make Halifax real estate prices go down.

The Federal LNG tax is going to cost MP Michelle Rempel some money! https://eosenergygroup.wordpress.com/2017/04/20/the-federal-lng-taxis-going-to-cost-mp

There is a new tax that is about to be imposed on the country, but it will affect private sector companies and Labour Minister MaryAnn Mihychuk told us that it's being done to fight climate change! The Federal LNG Tax, which comes into effect on April 1st, will impose a 3 per cent excise tax on any purchase of energy commodity produced through the use of natural gas or oil. In other words, it's a tax on the price of natural gas.

Liberals launch another attack on Alberta's energy sector with a new tax on methane emissions - and Trudeau approves! https://eosenergygroup.wordpress.

Conclusion

In a nutshell, there is a lot of money to be made in Canada these days. And I haven't even mentioned the energy sector! The energy and mining sectors are booming in Canada right now, but don't get distracted by the stock market because the real estate is going to take most of your hard earned cash. If you want to make an extra $1 million this year - sell some houses! And if you can get someone else to do it for you, even better. The amount of capital flowing into real estate has been unprecedented over the last few months and that's going to continue for sure.
