Tips for Mom Entrepreneurs: How to Stay Connected to Your Network
Mother's Days are quickly approaching, which means moms across the country will soon be gearing up to spend a day at home with friends, family, and celebrating their Motherhood. For many mom entrepreneurs in particular who have spent years building their career and brand before having children, the best gift they can give themselves is with time to focus on them selves.
Many times mama's need to stick around and help out while still managing their businesses full time but it becomes challenging when you aren't feeling your best or don't want to ask for help from others as we’ve seen in an experience of one of our readers on this blog.
To get ahead of the game, here are some tips for mom entrepreneurs to help them stay connected to their network and allowing them more time with their family.
Tip 1: Reach out early in the day to those you plan on connecting with during the day. Many times we have mama's who put things off until it becomes 11:00am or 12:00pm in the day and then they need to check-in with their business partners or reach out to friends, etc.
Tip 2: Take care of non-critical tasks when you are fresh in the morning as opposed to later in the evening. This way you will have time for your social tasks such as reaching out to your circle, friends, etc.
Tip 3: Include a buffer in between tasks. For example, include lunch or coffee on your to-do list so you can actually carve out time for yourself in the morning as opposed to doing work and then rushing off when it is time to head back to work.
Tip 4: Schedule retreats with other moms where you can actually go shopping together if desired. For example going out with other mamas or simply having lunch or coffee so you can focus on each other and not on business that day.
Tip 5: Find a co-leader with another mom and plan outings for your kids to spend time together. For example, if two of you are business partners, then both of you can plan out what you would like to do as a family on a certain day and have shared duties.
Tip 6: Go to the gym or relax at home without business distractions by listening to music or being unplugged from phones.
Tip 7: Once a week reserve time doing activities that bring meaning back into our busy lives such as volunteering at schools or going to the mall together as a family. This can help us capture the essence of why we built our businesses in the first place.
Tip 8: Reserve time for yourself by blocking off all of your work emails for a period of time, go to your favorite cafe, or reserve a nice spa day. This can help you remain calm and take care of your mind, body, and soul.
Tip 9: Sometimes mom's just need to have a good cry in order to release the stress that comes with being an entrepreneur. If this is the case, then do so without feeling guilty or needing to feel like you need to fix the situation right then and there. Remember not everything can be fixed in 24 hours.
Tip 10: Most importantly, remember to make time for you as a mom. If you are feeling stressed out or have business aches and pains, make sure to set aside a time for yourself to relax and plan what you need to do to take care of yourself without stressing about the business.
In summary, there are many ways that mom entrepreneurs can plan ahead in order to take some time off from the grind or even just have some fun. For many of us, it is an essential part of our work lives and so it’s important that we plan accordingly.

Title: How to Reference a Friend in an Email Pitch, In Only 15 Minutes (Lesson Plan) [AND 1 Other Tool]
[[ARTICLE STARTS HERE]]
If you're like me, your pitches are a veritable mess of miscellaneous links and paragraphs. You may have the links all ready to go, but when it comes time to actually craft that email – they're just not there. They're in your head – but out of order, and nowhere to be found.
[[ARTICLE ENDS HERE]]
Tip 1: Order Your Links First Before Writing Your Introduction. I recommend writing the introduction last. This way you can see which links are most important or have the best story to tell (often they will be the same). Then you can build your intro around that story. Make sure to grab the title and url of each link so that you have them handy when it's time to write your introduction.
Tip 2: On a Separate Tab/Document in Google Docs, Create the Following Html Listing Template: "Title | URL.
Tip 3: Head over to Buzzsumo and type in keywords for your niche that are related to the kinds of links you're pitching. Set the number of results to '20' and then write a query such as, "top links: guest post." (This will pull the top 20 results from Buzzsumo.) Then click export.
Tip 4: Go back to your list and assign each article a number. Next, copy and paste each article's title into the appropriate spot in your html document. Copy and paste the article's url on its own line beneath it. Save this document as a template in a google docs folder/tab that you've created specifically for this purpose.
Tip 5: Copy-Paste the link/url mix into your intro document, making sure that each link is numbered with the appropriate number. Then you can begin to build a narrative around each. Paste the introduction into your email and then copy-paste your links into it as well. Done!

While some writers start with the links, I prefer to start by writing out a short introduction about each link that goes like this: "I've included a post on (insert topic here) from (insert media source here) because..." You see? That's not easy to do if you haven't already gone through and organized your links by topic A first.
Conclusion: This method is a bit faster if you've already got your segments figured out, since you can just copy-paste them into the appropriate spot in your introduction. It also makes it easy to see exactly which links are most relevant and why they belong in that particular email.
