The Opportunity To Explore Different Career Paths

The Opportunity To Explore Different Career Paths

Did you know that over two thirds of the American workforce has a career in a different field than what they studied in school? With so many alternatives out there, it can be hard to see where the next steps are. That's why we've put together this list of four great websites for helping you figure out your next career move.

LinkedIn
LinkedIn is a great place to start your search for a new job if you're actively looking. They have an extremely comprehensive professional network that's great if you're trying to get your foot in the door of a specific organization. In addition to searching by company, you can also search by industry and location. LinkedIn is free to use and allows you to upload .pdf resumes and connect with people from your university, past employers, and so on.

JobsDB
JobsDB is one of the largest job boards in Asia Pacific. The site has lots of filters for different types of jobs, locations, and even industries. It's a fairly clean, user-friendly site that makes it easy to upload your resume, then search for positions by keywords. With plenty of education options, this is a great way to stay on top of the latest job openings in your field.

Payscale
Payscale is another great site to use if you're looking for a new career move or are trying to figure out which career path is best for you. The site lets you search by location and job title, but also looks at how much money different careers bring in per hour after factoring in benefits and other variables. It differs from other sites by letting you compare more than just base salary but also offers information like the proportion of employees who quit in a given industry, plus more.

Glassdoor
With Glassdoor, you can anonymously leave feedback on companies while also finding jobs that are available within the company. The site has a large database of jobs and reviews, which is helpful if you're looking for information that's not readily available online elsewhere. It's a great way to get an idea of what it's like to work for a company before actually applying for a position there.

There are two reasons I decided to start this blog. First, I have a passion for surfing and doing so along with my friends became my own form of therapy during an extremely tedious time in my life. Second, I want to learn more about website design and build sites for fun. Reading about others successes and failures is motivating for me as well. If you're looking for advice on websites and/or web design, you've come to the right place.

I'm new to the world of blogging, but I have some interesting posts coming up. I'll keep at it and try to make this site a success. If you're interested in getting in touch with me or reading more about my blog, check out the contact page. Thanks for reading!

Hello everyone! This is my first post on my new blog, The Surfing Bug. It's really exciting to see this become a reality and I'm happy that you're taking the time to read it!If you haven't heard yet, Pinterest is a really neat little website that allows users to create their own image boards. All boards are public unless the creator chooses otherwise. This is a great way to get inspired and find new ideas. I've never been much of a blogger but this will definitely be an outlet for my passions! More on that soon...P.S. I hope you guys enjoy the blog!

Parents and kids, you're going to love this post. Research has shown that playing video games with your children can help them learn to read better and have more chance at success in life. Up until now, there's been very little research done on the subject, so here are some interesting facts about gaming and education!

It seems the more we know about the brain, the more fascinated I become with it. From learning how thoughts are formed, to understanding the true power of brainwave entrainment, I am floored by how awesome it is. What's even more exciting is that our brain isn't set in stone. It's always evolving and growing, meaning that we can change it at any time. This belief has brought me some interesting epiphanies over the past couple years. When I began my college career, I was ready to go and have as much fun as possible with friends. However, a few things happened along the way that changed my whole outlook on education:

First of all, my grades weren't as good as I would've liked them to be. Some of my classes were incredibly difficult and I didn't enjoy the subjects. This lead to me taking more classes than I needed and being extremely busy. I quickly realized that I wasn't enjoying college as much as I should've been and it affected my grades even more. When it came time for me to graduate, I had lost all motivation to do so.

The second thing that happened was that I was forced to look at myself in the mirror and really stop and think about what kind of person I wanted to be. The conclusion? Something had to change, and soon! After attending a workshop with the founder of The Silva Method , my entire outlook on life changed.
