The #1 Secret To Selling Any Product Or Program
No matter what industry you are in, the product or program that you are trying to sell can always be perfected. However, there is one secret to selling any product or program that has been proven over and over again.
This blog post will give you a quick and easy way to make any sales page more compelling, resulting in more conversions and higher total revenue.
The key factor to making any sales page irresistible is this: Add stories and examples.
I know it sounds simple, but it's not. Most business owners are busy running their company and don't have time to sit down and write long-winded sales letters. I get it! I've been there... I am there now. It's difficult to write about our products without getting super excited about the benefits of what we do.
That's why my process of creating better sales pages is a simple 5 step process:
1. Identify the heart of your product or program. What is the #1 thing you want your customer to know about what you do? If you are trying to convince someone that they need to hire a landscaper for their home, you might write something like: "A well-maintained, beautiful lawn isn't just nice to look at... it's also good for your health." Of course, as I mentioned earlier, sales pages aren't as simple as writing 2 paragraphs and expecting success. You still need to have compelling pictures and some kind of call-to-action at the bottom.
2. Write your first paragraph about the #1 benefit of your product or program. (Remember, this is what you wrote the sales page for!) Don't worry if it's a little long... sometimes people get intimidated when they see a long sales letter at first glance.
3. Next, write an overview of your product or program in the next 2 paragraphs. Here's where you lay out the why, how and what they will get out of using it.
4. Now you need to add in some stories from clients who have used your product or program. This will help you make the sale by establishing authority and credibility. Plus, stories are real and people connect with them better than a sales letter alone.
5. Finally, you need to include a call-to-action at the bottom of your sales page. This is what will get a visitor to convert into a customer! Remember that not all people that arrive at your website are ready to buy right now... so give them multiple ways to get in touch with you (phone, email, etc.!).
That's it! You are now well on your way to creating irresistible sales pages.
When you combine the power of stories and a call-to-action at the bottom, you must put this into practice... sales pages that sell a million dollars or more. That's when it all REALLY starts to click. When you are able to write compelling stories along with a CTA at the bottom, your sales page will become irresistible. You will have an even easier time making it over 18 months than 1 year from now. Trust me... this is just the beginning.
5. Don't forget to test, test and keep testing.
Testing will be the game changer for some of you! You'll learn what works, what doesn't and it will make a huge difference in your success rate.
Testing allows you to see if something is working or not by looking at the data. Sales pages are no different. If you are trying out a new sales page on your website, you should always test between 2 different sales pages and measure the results over a period of time (1-2 weeks). This can show you which one is more effective in terms of visitors converting to customers as well as productivity (more sales). Then, once you know which one works better... you can keep testing.
You must do this to see what works and doesn't work. If there is a reason why something is not working, you will know and then you'll go back to the drawing board.
Your website should be your laboratory for testing things like sales pages, call-to-action options, forms and more. Once you get things right and then tweak a few more times... success will follow!
6. The formula is simple: write more, sell more and act faster while writing!
I've always been a curious person (thanks Mom) so I always enjoy trying new things that I didn't know existed until they were done.
The same goes for selling products or programs online... you need to try new things and stay updated. Yes, it's easy to say, but... you need to work on your sales pages, then test them for as long as it takes for you to figure out what works and what doesn't.
It all comes down to writing more and selling more. The formula is simple: Write more, sell more and act faster while writing!
Writing is the most important part of the equation... no matter what kind of business or sales page you are trying to create. Always write first before doing anything else.
7. The best time to write a sales letter or sales page is at 3AM or 3PM when your mind is focused on something else besides work... it is still processing your thoughts and ideas.
All entrepreneurs seem to be night owls or early birds. I personally like working at night because it allows me to do my most productive thinking. I highly suggest you do the same thing! No matter what kind of business you have, there will be times where nothing will come to mind... other than mind-blowing thoughts and ideas for a new sales page or campaign.
I know there are plenty of successful people that prefer to work in the morning... but I'd rather get my best work done during the hours most others are sleeping. I'm not saying that one time is a better time than the other... it's just what works well for me.
When I work at night, I have time to think about things and write them down. When I work during the day, I am more regimented with my time... which prevents me from being creative in my thinking. If you are trying to get something done at 3AM or 3PM when your mind is clear and you are not busy doing anything else (other than brainstorming), then go for it! You can always cut out your favorite business books (or genres) when you are finished working... so don't worry about that too much!
Be creative and do what works best for you! Some people like trading stocks during the day...
Conclusion
Thanks for taking the time to read my first blog post and I hope that it will help you out. I know that this is tough work and there is no easy way to earn a living online... but think of it like climbing a mountain. It's never easy, but you get to the top after some time and your reward is at the end!
With enough hard work, anyone can succeed online! The best part is that anyone can have their own business as an entrepreneur with very little money... so we ALL win.
