Taking The Vampire Out Of Online MLM Business Networking

The average online network marketer has little or no formal training in the business model. Of course, there are some millionaires who claim to make a living at it, but that's not typical. In fact, more than 80% of those who try it for a year quit within six months because they can't make any money!

This week we're talking about one of the biggest misconceptions about network marketing: It doesn't have to have anything to do with vampires. Yes, there is an actual distinction between "network marketing" and "multi-level marketing," and it matters a lot.

Multi-level marketing, also known as MLM, is a marketing strategy in which the sales force is compensated not only for sales they personally generate, but also for the sales of the other salespeople that they recruit. This recruited sales force is referred to as the participant's "downline," and can provide multiple levels of compensation.

This structure places individual salespeople in competition with one another, creating an overall negative atmosphere where everybody is out for themselves. It also gets them involved with manipulating their customers into buying products that are inferior or not needed. Salespeople do this so they can make commissions on those new customer purchases. This is totally unethical!

Network Marketing companies do things much differently.

The company deals with making the sale, and the marketer earns a commission or referral fee for bringing in new business. It's not unusual for network marketing companies to pay an upfront six-figure "investment" to start one of these businesses. It's also not unusual for them to be out of business within a couple of years because they're having such difficulty recruiting enough people into their downline.

Network marketing companies are required to grow their businesses by actually building real recurring revenue streams that treat customers well and solve their problems – and they do this by creating valuable relationships with those they serve, one person at a time.

In other words, they work with the people and not against them. And there is an enormous difference in the quality of the approach you get when your network marketing company is working with you, rather than against you.
