At last count, there are over 4.5 million millionaires worldwide. That's more than the population of Canada! And with incomes so high, it doesn't matter if you're a businessperson, an entrepreneur or just someone who wants to make money. Good news, that's the exact same question I asked my teacher when I was in grade 4. Granted, I was 8 at the time, and I was just trying to see if my teacher knew what she was talking about. Just like you, I'd always been brainwashed by society into believing that if I just worked hard and kept my nose clean eventually I'd be living the life of luxury and everything I ever wanted. That just wasn't going to go down. I mean, who would want to live a life of complete misery? I wouldn't. So of course I had to immediately stop that line of thinking and start taking serious action.

Why would you do that?

It's pretty easy when you think about it... You don't work for free, and the world doesn't owe you a living. The whole idea behind being an entrepreneur or businessperson is that you will be making money doing something that requires a lot of effort. There needs to be some sort of exchange happening, and if somebody isn't exchanging their time for kind money... Well, how are they going to live?

Of course I didn't know any of this back then. I just knew that at the time, education was very important and I wanted to get a good job so that I could make money. But of course this is all a bit silly when you look at the bigger picture. How can you expect to make money doing something you don't even enjoy doing?
