Rescuing concrete floors from holes and adhesives
Do you have stains and holes in your concrete floor? Have you ever looked at those ugly spots, rusted nails, and chipped corners with a sense of defeat? Do you avoid using the space because it’s just too hard to clean up all the dirt, grease, oil, and other grimy things that can get on or in the concrete? Does it seem impossible to remove these unsightly blemishes without destroying your concrete floors as well?
Don’t worry! A new method to fix dirty floors without damaging them has been developed. You can now use water-based adhesives which are designed specifically for this application. You can also use water-based concrete colorant. Best of all, this new technology does not require lifting, grinding or sandblasting your existing floor... no repairs to the flooring at all. The products are easy to apply and, with proper care and maintenance, will last for a long time, making your concrete floor look brand new.

Concrete Floors uses adhesives and stains, but what the heck are they?
When we talk about concrete floors, we're generally talking about components. It's the subfloor system that you see that is important. You've got the lower layer of PVA, then you've got a grid of steel reinforcing steel bars and then there's a topcoat of aggregate concrete, which is just mixed cement. That's all there is to it. When humans built these things back in the day there was nothing fancy about them. There was nothing like adhesive or refinish products available yet and so these old cement floors were laid just like anybody else would lay a floor.
Adhesives and stains are used to provide some degree of sophistication to those old cement floors. For the most part those old cement floors were built without any form of grout joint reinforcement, so this job is not the same as laying a conventional concrete floor.
It's a little different when you look at this differently and think about it in terms of subfloor versus topcoat, which are completely separate systems. The subfloor is what we're going to be addressing in this discussion. When you go from the bottom up, you have four different layers or components that make up any given floor or return system: 1) Underlayment 2) Pallets 3) Underlayment with steel 4) Topcoat.

What we're looking at here is the typical cost of laying a concrete floor. It will depend on a number of factors including but not limited to the size of the job, which side of the road you live on, how far your job is from the cement kiln and then finally, how well you do in this business. This is not your typical housekeeping situation where you're going to go out and spend $50 per square foot or so to install a concrete floor.
Conclusion
First, we've got to talk about what is a concrete floor. What is that? The floor coverings come in several varieties and sizes. They range from a very small for the bedroom area to large for the living room and dining room and then everything in between. Most people just don't think of this as a "building material." Most people are very surprised when they hear that concrete floors can be used as interior flooring. They simply don't think about it or consider it. But, there's this whole variety of them out there, ranging from very heavy industrial requirements to residential applications of various sizes and types...
