Do you enjoy making money? Come on, admit it: It sounds like a lot of fun. Everyone likes to experience the thrill of making something and having it turn into more money than ever before. So why not go for it? Consider these three statistics to help you make up your mind:

* The average American will have only worked for less than 50 companies in their lifetime;

* Most salary earners change jobs 10 times or more during their careers; * 90% of individuals will change careers at least once during their working lives.

The problem is that most career paths don't involve the possibility of earning a lot of money. Think about it: If you're in a corporate job, what do you do for most of your time? Save money and pay bills. You socialize with coworkers and customers, but you don't usually have the opportunity to make money at work.

If you're currently employed, however, this could be a major opportunity for growth in your career. Are you working in a corporate environment right now? There are jobs out there where the opportunities for building a substantial nest egg are far greater than they are in traditional corporate positions.

For example, what if you were an engineer who specialized in commercial construction? You could work with a contractor to help build a major commercial development. Think about it: People get rich overnight when they win the lottery, but the truth is that you can win the lottery every day. An entrepreneur can earn a fortune by owning a successful business. If you enjoy making money, what better way to do it than to make it yourself?

If you've had your fill of corporate life, then this is definitely worth looking into. You're going to have many more opportunities for growth if you own your own business. You can take advantage of the vast network of customers and suppliers. But like everything else in life, there are risks involved with starting your own business. You're going to have a lot more work to do. It's up to you to decide if the chance at making great money is worth it.

Don't just let your career happen by chance. Remember that you only have one career, so it's important that you take control of it now instead of letting it run its course by its own momentum.
