Are Free Business Cards Really Free?

Many business cards today are given away for free, but this may not always be the case. Are they really worth buying?

Some companies will actually charge you to print a few copies of your card and that is where the problem lies. If you want the quality that comes with paying for business cards then it is better to pay for them since they will last longer. Look into bulk orders if you are in need of 100's of business cards printed each year or smaller order with a few thousand printed at once. This way, you will get a lower cost per card and be able to save money on printing costs for long term benefits.

If you want to save money and print business cards for free, then contact some of your contacts who offer free business cards. Companies in need of business cards will often have a limited amount of time available to show their product and if they have not found a buyer by the deadline, then they will allow other companies to make an offer on their product. This is a great way to get your company known by supply chain companies that normally wouldn't be interested in their products. A similar method is clustering several 1,000's of cards together at one time so that you can get even better pricing with minimal down times in printing multiple orders at once.

Any business that offers business cards for free charge too much too, however. Soon enough you will find out that they are charging you a hefty price per card and you will need to start printing business cards in bulk if you want to save money on printing. When the time comes to order your regular orders of the same quantity, then look into bulk orders and get most of your business cards printed at a better cost with minimal down times in printing.

Just like any other product or service, free business cards take up more space in your mailbox and add unwanted clutter as well. If you want to save money on printing and have your business cards be cost effective, then you will need to look into bulk orders and print business cards in large quantities as well.

In the end, free business cards can last a very long time if they are purchased in bulk or made for less quantity.

Conclusion

The last time I was in Kansas City for my daughter's graduation we ended up looking at the Kindle Fire Tablet. My first impression of the device was that was a great value and had a lot of potential. We looked at the new iPad as well, but I just didn't feel like it would be worth the price. The Kindle Fire gave us everything we wanted and then some, but they charge $199 for the "basic" model and $259 for the "HD" model. Not sure if it would have remained one of our favorite devices if they had been put on that level. However, after exploring more about the Kindle Fire HD we came to believe that there really aren't any downsides to this device.
