Are FFA Pages a Marketing Resource?
The Facebook Fan Page is getting a lot of attention in terms of marketing and advertising. With the help of these pages, Facebook has become one of the most important marketing channels with its reach being on par with many other top channels like Google and YouTube.
However, if done incorrectly or haphazardly, fan pages can distract from your main purpose for using them as a marketing tool: providing information about your restaurant business to followers who are likely interested in learning more about it.
This blog post will cover five mistakes that marketers often make when building their fan page so that you can avoid falling into the same traps and get better results.
1. Building an incomplete or weak Fan Page
The most common mistake made when building a fan page is to start posting right away without giving it an overall theme or focus. Your Facebook fan page has the potential to be a powerful resource for your business, so be smart about how you use it from the very beginning and use the information below as a guide.
2. Not sharing all relevant Facebook Pages
This may be obvious to some, but others do not realize that it is important to include the Facebook Page of your employer or some other business, so that your followers will see the relationship between you and your place of employment in a positive way. This may also be appealing to some new followers who may have come across them simply by being subscribers of an existing customer's Page. You don't need to post on their pages unless it is something that would be appropriate for your fan page. But it is important to maintain a consistent brand image and reputation both on your fan page as well as your place of employment's Page.
3. Posting too many pictures
This is one of the most common mistakes that people make when creating their fan page. It may be tempting to load up your page with pictures, but in reality, this is not the best way to use the space that you are given. Another thing to avoid when posting pictures is making them overly fancy or complicated, especially if they are food photos or other items that would be more appealing if they appeared simple and straightforward.
Conclusion: Keep your Page simple, organized and helpful and it will do the best job of attracting the right followers to your page. Don't waste their time or yours with a lot of fluff or confusing graphics.

4. Not being interactive enough through status updates and comments
Many people make the mistake of posting on their fan page without making sure that others are interacting with them in some way.
