Accept Checks with Confidence with a Check Reader

There are many reasons why you might want to accept checks, but one reason that often gets overlooked is the confidence of knowing you will get paid. After all, the bank takes a certain amount of time before clearing a check and it could take days or weeks (or sometimes not at all) before they actually deposit your funds into your account. Accepting checks eliminates this risk because instead of waiting for their money to come in, customers know it’s already there when they pay with a check.

This article outlines everything from what this device does to how you can get one for free. Finally, we have included some helpful links for answering any questions you may have about our Check Reader solution in case anything is unclear.

What is the Check Reader?

The Check Reader is a small device that you can use to scan the information on any check. This information (which includes the name, address, account number, check number, etc.) is then displayed on your mobile phone. You can then immediately take a picture of the check and email it to yourself or anyone else so you have a digital record. The benefit here is that you can now access this digital record at any time by logging into your own personal online portal which will be linked to this email address. This means that you will never have to worry about losing your checks because you can simply store a digital version of them. In other words, the Check Reader is essentially a check scanner which helps you get paid faster, maintain better control over your records and avoid any expenses (or losses) incurred by double-spending checks.

How much does the Check Reader cost?

We are giving our solution away to individual merchants at no cost because we believe in transparency and building trust with our customers. This free service is also meant to be used as an introductory offer for businesses who have not yet accepted checks from their customers. This is beneficial because once you have a free Check Reader, you will have a better understanding of how it works and how much time and money it can save your business. Once you are comfortable with this technology, we hope that you will upgrade to our paid solution so that merchants can continue to profit from the fast and easy way to take checks with confidence.

What is the difference between the "Business Plan" and the "Merchant Plan"?

The Business Plan (which costs $100/month) offers an unlimited number of Check Readers, while the Merchant Plan (which costs $200/month) offers unlimited Check Readers plus an unlimited number of employees who can use them. Both plans also offer a customized Dashboard so that you can track all of your transactions and payments easily.

What are the costs associated with using the Check Reader?

There are no monthly fees to use our Check Reader solution and there is no additional cost to your business. However, it is recommended that you begin by using the free (limited) service and then upgrade to the paid version once you have enough volume. Even though we are providing our solution for free, there may still be a need for some customization (such as setting up a custom portal). For example, if you want your online portal linked directly to your online banking account or another part of your website, we can also do this for you. However, this type of service will require an additional one-time fee.

How can I get one of these Check Readers?

At the moment, our solution is only available in the United States. However, we do plan to roll out our Check Reader solution in Canada and other countries in 2015. More information will be made available on this page once we begin expanding internationally. In the meantime, feel free to contact us with any questions you may have about our Check Reader solution. We are more than happy to answer them for you!

Check Writing Services - How To Check Payroll (EFT) Posted in Taxes by Yvette Last Update: May 27, 2016 A quick check writing services guide. "How To Write Checks Online" First, I will explain what the Online Check Writer is and how it works. Then I will discuss the advantages of paying your employees electronically and how this can be used for payroll deductions as well as for budgeting expenses. Finally, I will review a sample Check Pay Stub and explain how to read the different types of checks.
ADVANTAGES OF EFT OR ELECTRONIC FUND TRANSFERS When you are using your own business bank account for payroll, it would seem that the simplest way to pay employees is by writing them a check from your checking account every time you want to pay someone. However, there is more than cost involved. Let's look at the advantages of paying electronic transfers (EFTs) as an alternative to written checks: 1) Cost Savings - According to the Federal Reserve, EFTs are less expensive than checks because you are not paying for printing and other costs.

Conclusion

2) Simplicity - Yes, this sounds like a stupidly obvious advantage, but it's true. Electronic transfers (EFTs) of funds from your bank account are simply a more efficient and cost-effective way to pay your employees than writing them a check. It also avoids the hassles of having to pick up the check and walk to the check casher or bank location to deposit it. 3) Ease of Doing Business - If you have an online banking account then you can make EFTs just as easily as you can write checks.
