A Long-Term Strategy For Securing Affiliate & Joint Venture Details
If you’ve ever considered working with affiliates, joint ventures, or other referral partners to boost your sales and income for your business, you need to understand the importance of actually securing these relationships.
A long-term strategy for securing affiliate and joint venture details is not something that can be done in one day; it should take months of planning and strategizing. In this post, I’ll outline a step-by-step process for finding and securing affiliates who want to work with you over a long period of time.
If you’re just starting out, you might not know what to look for in affiliate partners. That’s understandable; sometimes it can be hard to determine which affiliates are going to bring in more sales and income for your business.
But there are a few things that you can look for that will give you an idea of whether an affiliate is going to be a good fit or not. In this post, I’ll share some of the things I look for when determining if working with another business or individual will be beneficial for my business.
The first thing I do when looking into different affiliates is find out which ones are currently working with leading brands and companies within my industry.
For example, if I’m an insurance agent, I find out which companies are already being sold through a leading insurance provider. If it’s an established company in my industry, then I would probably work with it. But if an affiliate has never worked with a company in my industry before, then I’d probably look at partnering with that person.
The second thing I do is try to find out which affiliates have a proven track record of success.
An affiliate that has a proven track record of success can be worth more than one who has never had any experience with a company.
So how do you find out which affiliates have been successful in the past? It’s going to depend on what business you’re in, but I’ll provide some general suggestions below:
1 . Look Back For Some Time – If you’re selling products or services, try checking back on the affiliate from sometime before they first started working with another business or individual. This will show if they were successful in their previous endeavors.
2 . Check With The Referring Business – If you’re working with an affiliate who is currently getting results for another business, reach out to the business they’re currently working with and ask them how they like working with that affiliate. This can be a great way to find out if that individual is going to be a good fit for your business or not.
Doing this step will help ensure that you’ll get results from working with the affiliate in the long run.
The third thing I do is find out if an affiliate has specific training or experience within my industry.
If an affiliate has specific training and experience within my industry, then that’s an immediate signal that they know what they’re doing more than one who doesn’t.
But how do you find out if the affiliate has any experience or training in your industry? The best way to find out is by asking them directly!
Ask them if they have any experience or training in your industry. If they say yes, ask them what level of expertise they have. You can also ask them to elaborate on some tactics and strategies they used when reaching success with a company in your industry previous to working with you.
#1 Best Form of Affiliate Marketing: Tips To An Excellent Affiliate Program
I’ve had the great opportunity to work with several affiliates over the years and have had some great experiences. One of my favorites that I worked with was an affiliate who had experience working with a leading real estate company.
The partner was very good at getting his clients to make offers on their houses, which is one of the most challenging things you can do in any industry. And it definitely helped that we were in the same business, so it made things much simpler for me. But he was known for doing this and having a successful track record with other business owners.
The partner also had training within my industry, which can be a great benefit if you’re in the same business. But even if you’re not in the same industry, there are other things that can help determine whether an affiliate is a good fit for your business or not.
Take For Example…
If I was working with an affiliate who had experience working with other businesses within my industry, but didn’t have any type of training or education in my business specifically, then I don’t think they would be a good fit. I would want an affiliate who knows what they’re doing and has experience working with companies like mine.
And if I was working with an affiliate who didn’t have experience working with companies like mine, but had training and education in my industry, then that would be a good sign for me. It shows that the affiliate is willing to do whatever it takes to get results for my company.
#2 Tips To A Great Affiliate Program
I’ve worked with several affiliates over the years and have had great success with each of them. But here are a few tips that I’ve learned through my experiences:
1 . Figure Out What You Want To Achieve – Before you start looking for affiliates, figure out what results you’re trying to achieve. This can be any specific goal that will help your business grow.
For example, if I want to grow my leads or sales through working with an affiliate, then I go about finding the right affiliate in a different way than if I want to increase conversion rates or decrease cart abandonment. Find out what it is that you want to achieve and then find the right person or company for the job.
2 . Reach Out To Several Affiliates – A lot of people get locked into finding one affiliate who can accomplish all of their goals and objectives. While working with one affiliate can be great, I prefer to find three or four that I can work with.
This way if one affiliate gets results on one of my goals, then there’s other affiliates I can work with on the other goals I want to achieve. It’s always better to have more than just one option!
3 . Make Sure Your Affiliates Understand Your Objectives – When you find an affiliate that appears to be a good fit for your business, make sure they understand what you’re trying to achieve before they agree to help you out.
Conclusion
One of the best ways to get started with affiliate marketing and to pick up new affiliates is to start taking action.
Take a look at the questions I asked in this article. Figure out what your business needs and then go out there and find an affiliate who can help you achieve those goals!
