7 Tips To Become A Star Tv Guest

'Howdy partner, welcome aboard the 'Carolyn Ann'!' Marty, the fat guy at the wheel, greeted me with all the enthusiasm a locomotive can muster, I suppose. He swiftly shook my hand, a firm handshake - the kind that makes you believe you can trust a person to save you from drowning. His eyes sparkled brightly with enthusiasm and the curves in the corners of his lips were matched only by the dimples in his cheeks. He wore a very shiny, gold-coloured name-tag that pronounced his title as 'Capt' and said his name was 'Marty' in embossed letters. I wasn't sure if it was 'captain Marty' or 'Marty the captain' which made the most sense, so I just thanked him for the warm welcome and stepped down from the dock. He went back to the wheel.

The 'Carolyn Ann', as Marty called it, was a very small boat, heeled over and bobbing up and down on the waves, ready to set sail as soon as possible. It surely didn't look big enough to carry more than a handful of passengers, but I guess that's what you get for taking a 'pontoon' out. Marty had promised me the best of the best and I believed that the boat was good enough for a short trip to the surrounding islets.

There was already another guy on board - in his late twenties, he appeared to be an expert swimmer. He greeted me with a smile, standing next to Marty on the bridge. 'I'm sure we're going to have a great time,' he said with a smile.

'That we are! Let's get the show on the road,' Marty announced and left the wheel, walking across the boat. He was followed on board by his crew-mate, who helped him get the boat prepared for the trip.

I, meanwhile, made my way to the cabin, searching for my assigned seat.

The boat's interior looked pretty big from the outside, but it was mostly empty space. It was rectangular, with wooden floors and walls, and had one massive window at the forward end. A metal kitchen isolated from the rest of the boat was to the aft, beside the door through which I had entered. The table and chairs were made of wood, painted dark green, and a small bathroom was installed just about where I had expected to find the toilets.

It wasn't hard to guess where Marty had his office and the bedroom was situated at the back.

The cabin had basic furnishings - a wooden table and four chairs made of similar wood and a single wooden divan. The only entertainment device was a small tv-set mounted on the wall.

I soon discovered that sitting on a lifeboat meant having to sit all alone, so I went back up, where I found myself greeted with a cheerful smile from Marty on the bridge. 'Have a seat, Mr Wilcox,' he said, pointing at a chair next to the old guy next to him, who I took to be the captain.

'I'm sorry if I'm late. I wanted to make sure I didn't forget anything,' I said to the captain, raising my voice so Marty could hear it too.

'That won't be a problem, Mr Wilcox,' Marty told me. 'We have a good half-hour before we have to start heading out.'

'Cool!' I said, smiling and then looked around at the crew. 'Is everybody here?'

'Yes, Mr Wilcox, everybody's here and we can be off to our destination whenever you're ready,' Marty assured me.

'I'm ready for it now, let's go!' I said, getting out of my seat.

'Hold your horses, Mr Wilcox, we'll be departing just when we should start heading out, not a minute sooner, not a minute later,' Marty said with a chuckle, patting my shoulder to reassure me.

I had to smile at his expression, thinking once again how welcoming he was.

'And now, if you'd like to go to the bridge, we'll start the route-plotting,' he continued, then walked to the bridge.

'Don't you want to atleast tell me what we're going to do?' I asked.

'No, no, no. That would spoil the fun,' Marty answered.

'Alright, I guess that's alright for time for guessing, I have some time for that,' I said and followed Marty onto the bridge.

I was greeted by a landscape, one that stretched out before me, beautiful and magnificent. I couldn't see how far it stretched in the distance.

Conclusion: The boat is small, very small.

Recommendation: The boat has recently been started and its captain is eager to show you what he's made.

While the car journey to the boat took almost twenty minutes, the boat trip was more than an hour.
