Using the Internet to your Advantage

In the age of the internet, accessing information has never been easier. There’s so much information out there on any given topic that you can spend all day reading and still not scratch the surface. And while we could go on listing things like how to access Wikipedia, Google Images or forums, this article is going to focus on what you can do when you find yourself in a bind with no internet connection at your disposal.

It’s happened to everyone: your phone dies during the first class at college and you don't have a charger; your laptop is old and barely functional; or maybe all of your devices are just having a rare off-day. These unfortunate mishaps can be prevented by having a charger at college or school. It only takes a couple of minutes to charge up a device and you leave with nothing but the knowledge that your phone battery won't die on you anymore.

There are many other times throughout our day when having connectivity is simply not an option. This could be because we don’t have access to the internet in general, we’re on our computer at home and feel like getting up for some needed alone time or perhaps our laptop has had enough and is now sitting in the corner charging.

In these cases, it’s okay to let us know ahead of time so we can prepare accordingly. For instance, if you’re heading to the library, you don’t need to contact us with twenty minutes left before the start of class. However, if you know that you have a test in an hour and there’s a good chance you won't be able to send us any notes through email or chat until then, mention something.

The same goes for when we online teach. If your computer has a problem and has been offline for some time, we might be confused as to why the lesson hasn't started yet. Once again though, it’s always better to ask than assume that nothing is wrong.

Conclusion

We love our students. We love a good laugh. And we definitely love putting up with the unusual problems that can happen to so many of them online and offline. So whether you have a question, have to ask us something because we’re out of battery power or just want to know what you’re up to, please just let us know beforehand.

Title: The Replica Problem
(Background)

Of all the topics discussed in this lesson, nothing has generated more discussion than the topic of replicas.
