Transform Negative "Reactions" Into Positive "Proactions"
If you're feeling down and really tired, you can make a change. You can immediately stop reacting negatively to people or circumstances and turn things around by proactively changing your internal dialogue and visualizations. This is the process of transforming negative "reactions" into positive "proactions." It's amazing how quickly this small shift in perspective, coupled with some specific affirmations, will raise your energy levels, lift your mood and instantly change the scope of your outlook on life.
This always reminds me of the movie The Secret , in which Bob Proctor teaches the law of attraction. He asks everyone to smile, saying, "The Universe wants you to succeed." And if you are smiling and feeling good, you are on your way to success.
He then says, "Remember this rule: When someone irritates you, it is only because they have touched a nerve that exactly matches an irritation in your own heart." As Bob states it, this is not meant as an excuse for the behavior of others. It's no excuse for being rude to us or offending us with negative or harmful comments. It does not excuse us from taking a stand for our own emotional well-being.
Yet somehow it works for me. I find myself smiling, but with a slightly different meaning in mind. It's an affirmation of "I am at peace with everyone around me and everyone is at peace with me." It has humbled me, but it has also made me stronger and more confident. I am happier and have found that I have more control over my life than I ever thought possible, no matter what is happening in my personal life or the world around us.
This awareness, this experience of reprogramming your inner dialogue and changing your attitude, can be very powerful in changing your outer reality as well. Most people are aware of the placebo effect, in which a person's health improves even though they are taking a sugar pill. As it happens, there have been studies done on the placebo effect that prove conclusively that the mind can indeed heal the body.
I call this "the law of attraction" – it's not just a theory or a metaphor; it is absolutely real and it works. It has worked for me time and time again and I hope it will work for you. By changing our attitude, by changing our inner dialogue, we change our outer reality.
Just becoming aware of this is a good start, but we've got to keep at it if we want to manifest what we want in life. There is no overnight cure and no magic wand that can be waved. It takes persistence and a dedicated effort to accomplish a goal. I repeat the simple mental exercise of changing my attitude, my inner dialogue, as many times throughout the day as I can.
This has helped me in all aspects of my life and in all the challenges I've faced with family, friends and work associates. Through this exercise, over time you will find yourself becoming more positive, less judgmental of others and more tolerant of those who do not live up to your expectations. In time, you will be amazed at what unfolds in front of you when you look within yourself.

In the movie The Secret , Bob Proctor states, "Remember this rule: When someone irritates you, it is only because they have touched a nerve that exactly matches an irritation in your own heart." He then goes on to say, "Move on. It's not their fault; it's yours. It's because of something you're focusing on inside yourself." [END OF ARTICLE]
Although the author of this article mentions moving on, I like what Bob Proctor says better: "It's your fault. It's because of something you're focusing on inside yourself. It has nothing to do with the other person and everything to do with you."
My point is that your attitude is always a direct reflection of what's going on inside of you. And if you want to change your outer reality, it's important to pay attention to how you're feeling. Your inner dialogue is programmed by what you think, say or even whisper under your breath. You can use this power of self-suggestion for good or for bad. It's up to what you choose to focus on. Always remember, it has nothing to do with the environment around you and everything to do with the programming in your mind.
So, what happens when you change your inner dialogue? What happens when you really do focus on something different inside yourself?
Your attitude changes. Your inner dialogue changes. Your outer reality changes.
Mastering the use of self-suggestion can help you in all aspects of your life, but it's up to YOU to make it happen.

The power of self-suggestion is a process we can use every day with positive results.
Every morning I give myself suggestions as I'm preparing for the day, and then again before I go to sleep at night. And it works! It's changing my attitude and changing my life for the better. I've been able to change my inner dialogue and shift my vibration (which is what I prefer to call it) from negative to positive in a very short amount of time.
