Top Ten Tips: Gaining Confidence
It can be hard to find the confidence we need to live our best lives. If you're struggling with low self-esteem, self-doubt, depression, or any other reason for feeling not good enough, then these ten tips will help you find the confidence that every person deserves. Confidence is important. It's what makes you want to take that leap of faith and do the things that you used to only dream about.
1. Surround yourself with people who inspire you.
It may sound obvious, but having good friends and family members who support your goals and make you feel great about yourself will help live your best life.
2. Express gratitude toward those who inspire you.
Gratitude is a wonderful way to motivate ourself and create motivation for goal achievement because it shows us how lucky we are - we have people in our lives willing to support us and encourage us, even though we might not deserve it at all times.
3. Find a worthy cause you can support.
When we give back to others, it can help us feel good about ourselves. Take a look at your social media accounts, and see if there's any causes or organizations that you can make a difference with.
4. Try something new!
If you're used to being around people because you're like-minded, then try inviting yourself somewhere new to meet up with people who are completely different than you are. That way, when you find yourself in a situation where you feel insecure, surrounded by people too different from you to understand - they'll make your day!
5. Practice the art of laughing at yourself.
Instead of feeling insecure if you make a mistake, laugh it off. That way, you remind yourself that everyone makes mistakes, and it's no big deal when you do.
6. Identify your strengths and weaknesses, and then accept them!
When we are harder on ourselves than we are on others (and sometimes even than we would be on a stranger or an acquaintance), it can be difficult to find the confidence to pursue our dream jobs or start a relationship with someone we've been wanting to meet for months.
7. Find an activity that helps you focus on a goal.
Setting goals and asking how you will achieve them is a great way to feel good about yourself, as well as make sure your life is heading in the right direction. (We all know people who are lost and wandering through life, and they probably don't find themselves feeling very confident or happy.)
8. Get active!
It's never too late to start exercising, either by joining a gym or becoming an outdoorsy person. You'll feel much better when you're physically able to run away from something or catch someone else!
9. Strengthen your relationships with family and friends.
Feeling close to others can help strengthen your self-esteem, which can inspire you to be confident. If you're struggling a lot with something, reach out to someone you trust - whether that be a friend or a family member.
10. Don't compare!
Instead of comparing yourself to others, focus on the things you do well and the things you wish you did. You will feel confident if you're happy with who you are, no matter what anyone else says.
We all want to feel confident in our lives, working toward our goals and dreaming about the future. However, it's hard to achieve confidence when it's hard to feel good about ourselves. If we can take these ten tips for gaining confidence into consideration, we can begin feeling better about ourselves - making us more motivated and positive! Who knows? This might just be the boost that gets us moving in life!

Achieve Your Goals And Feel Good About Yourself
Posted on December 5, 2016 - 4 comments
It's hard to believe that the first half of 2016 is already over. It feels like yesterday we were ringing in the new year with all those resolutions that we felt we could accomplish. I know, I have them too. It takes a lot of work to actually achieve our goals and feel good about ourselves as well. However you can! In fact there are ways to feel better about yourself , just by setting small goals each day or week, and working towards achieving them with a positive attitude! 1. Make a list of what you want to do .
I do this every January. I make a list of everything I want to accomplish, in order to achieve my goals. Sometimes it is a work-related goal that I have written down, and other times it might be something like "get better at playing the piano." Then, you can start working on the smaller things you need to do in order to get there.
2. Plan how long you need for each item on your list .
I do this by looking at the calendar, and taking note of how long certain months require for certain tasks. I also look at my calendar to see if there is anything coming up in the near future that might require extra planning time.
3. Write down a list of steps on how to achieve your goal .
It is not enough to just have a vague idea of what you want to do, you need a detailed plan as well. This will ensure you are actually going to accomplish it and that you won't find yourself falling behind other goals because you've forgotten about them!
4. Set measurable goals for each task .
For example, let's say you have a dream job that you'd really like to obtain. Instead of having a goal that reads "apply for x job," set a measurable goal by saying "Research 15 jobs" or "Research 10 companies." That way, when you meet with your friends and they ask how it went - you can be very specific in regards to what you did!
5. Give yourself checkpoints .
Maybe your list of goals seems impossibly long and it's hard to imagine yourself achieving them at all. In order to stay motivated, give yourself checkpoints along the way.
Conclusion:
You can achieve your goals and feel good about yourself. Be kind to yourself, set small goals one by one, and make sure you are taking note of the way you feel each time you achieve one of them! This will also help in staying motivated to keep working on the things that might be a little harder for you!
