The Meaning Of Success Is The Meaning You Give It!
We all want to be happy, but the fact is that happiness can be so fleeting. We crave success because of its long-lasting and tangible benefits. Whether it's finding true love or landing a job that you love, success in your eyes is just as detailed and meaningful as what you're going for. But how do we find our meaning in our success? What does being successful even mean? You might have already answered this question for yourself, but if not then read on!
Success means different things to everyone, but there are some general categories that encompass the meanings people associate with it. For example, one person's success might be a financial reward, while another person's success is finding true love. Even if you haven't quite immortalized an answer for yourself yet, understanding the main categories of success will help you determine what it means to be successful for you.
"Definition of Success: Getting what you want"
You've heard that all your life, right? It seems so simple and logical that it only makes sense in hindsight. In order to have success then, you must have had a clear vision of what it was that you wanted. But those visions sometimes turn into road blocks and the best visions often become tainted as time goes on. Success isn't a quick thing to achieve, but it's not a journey that you can make in a single day. Success is something that you earn over time, and sometimes success doesn't even mean achieving what you want. However, if achieving your dream means rotting away in prison or never being able to see those you love again, then maybe your definition of success is different than what it seems at first glance.
"Definition of Success: Being Indispensable"
Heard the saying before? I'm sure you have. But there is so much truth to that statement that it turns into fantasy at first glance. Everyone wants to be indispensable to someone. We want to be so important that people can't live without us. But being indispensable isn't just as easy as spending all your time with someone, it's understanding that in doing so you're also making them happy and helping them in every way possible. Being indispensable really is the definition of success because it's an ongoing cycle of giving and receiving that keeps relationships strong and individuals confident.
"Definition of Success: Living Your Dream"
Everyone's definition of success is different, but what we all have in common is our hopes and dreams. These dreams can range from being the best chef in the world to spending your life with someone you love. Whatever you want to do with your life, identifying it and going after it is considered your dream and achieving it makes you successful.
Success means different things to everyone, but it's important that we pay attention to our differences. We are all so different from one another, we shouldn't feel pressured into living someone else's interpretation of success. You need to find your own meaning in your success because it's what will give you the most satisfaction. Once you've found the meaning of success that you want, look back at all that happened and choose a course of action. As long as you feel like the course of action is right, then it won't change how you see yourself or who you are. There are definitely people who were not successful at all, but they're still happy, so whatever doens't sit right with you shouldn't affect how happy or successful you are.
One thing that we all have in common is that we all dream of success. I think it's a pretty easy concept to understand, but once it's gone, it's gone. But if you keep your eyes open and look for what it is you want to achieve, then maybe you'll find out what success really means to you!
