4 Simple Steps To Get Out Of Debt - And Stay Out

Over the last decade, it has been brought to light that the United States is one of the most indebted countries in the world. With more than $12 trillion owed by individuals, families, businesses and even governments- many are struggling to find a way out of debt. In this article, I will discuss 4 easy steps for you to get out of debt and stay out!

Step One: Create A Budget- Know Where The Money Is Going And What It’s Being Spent On

The first step to getting “out” of debt is identifying where your money is going in your budget. In order to do this, you must first understand where your money is being spent. This can be accomplished by creating a budget as it will make it easier to see what you are spending money on. Once you have identified where your money is being spent, then its time to put restrictions on where you spend (i.e., cutting things out of your budget). You should also feel free to add or subtract things from the budget as you see fit!

Step Two: Prioritize- Prioritize What’s Important- And Leave The Rest Behind

Once you have created a budget, prioritize what’s important and realize that more money isn't always better. In fact, you could be wasting your hard earned money on items that you don’t need or want! When it comes to spending, you must not only identify what is important, but also what is necessary. It is crucial to be able to identify what you need versus what you want.

Step Three: Cut Expensive Things Out Of Your Budget

As with any new budget, there are going to be some things that are cut. The first step of cutting things out of your budget is identifying those items. Things that you cut from your budget could include the following:

*Cable TV

*Movies

*Cell Phone

*Internet

Step Four: Pay Off Your Debt In Two Or Three Years- It Can Be Done

To get out of debt, it is recommended that you make a plan to pay off your debt in 2 or 3 years. This can be accomplished if you stick to your budget and don’t miss any monthly payments. When you are able to get out of debt, you will be able to save money throughout the course of the year that can then be used towards paying your debt off.

When you're struggling with debt, just remember these four steps and I guarantee that you will be out of debt very quickly!
