10 Simple Steps to Self-Motivation and More Sales
It’s no secret that self-motivation is a difficult quality to develop. It might take weeks of persuading yourself to get up and get ready for work in the morning. It might take days of reminding yourself to call your mom back when she calls you. It may be a lifelong battle with consistent doubt, insecurity, or anxiety.
There are six steps to self-motivation that I came up with to help you overcome this struggle and become more productive in your life.
1. Take a big picture look at your day/week/month/year.
So much of our time, energy, and focus is on the details of our own lives, we often miss the bigger picture or don't appreciate the value of what we do each day or week. You should step back and take a look at your life as a whole. What do you see? Do you see signs that things are not just going well but that they're actually going extraordinarily well? If so, what might be some of the reasons for this?
2. Break down your daily tasks into manageable chunks.
Break your tasks down into bite-sized pieces that you can achieve and complete each day. If you have a project to complete, break it down into the steps that need to be completed each day.
3. Take the time to study a particular subject so you can use it in your daily activities.
You've already found something that excites you, but now you want to learn more about it and use that knowledge in your life. So build in some time for studying every week or month and make sure this is something that will be valuable for at least a year or two from now.
4. Give time to growing your business.
Expand your business and take it to the next level. Plan on where you want your future business to be. Figure out what you need to do to get there. If a particular aspect of your business is falling behind, then go into it in detail and see what needs to change. And then find a way each day of making forward progress towards your goals.
5. Give time to building a team of people around you that can support you in life, love, friendship, and career (yes even if they don't make the same amount of money as you).
Building a team around you is crucial for happiness, success, and fulfillment in life. What kind of team do you want around you? A team of people who share your dreams and aspirations, who genuinely care about your success, and support you unconditionally.
6. Give time to caring for yourself (not just in the physical sense but also emotionally, spiritually, mentally, and financially as well).
When are you planning to take time to pamper yourself? When are you planning on taking time out of your day to do something just for fun or pleasure? When are you going to make sure that your emotional needs are being met? Everyone has them. And when they go unmet they can lead to stress, anxiety and even depression. Our emotional health is just as crucial as our physical health.
You don't have to do all of these at once all the time. But you do need to give some attention and effort to each one on a regular basis. Your future will be bright when you do.

-10 Simple Steps to Self-Motivation and More Sales [ARTICLE] Mainly about self motivation but still relevant even if you're not motivated. It's good how he breaks things down into bitesize chunks over the course of a year or so. #1. Commit to reading a book a day for the next year (or however long you choose) #2. If a book is too hard, read it anyway. You can always pick up another easier one if you have trouble comprehending it #3. Write down 10 ideas per day and spend one minute writing each idea down on paper or on your smartphone #4. Or use an app like Evernote to keep them all in one place. #5. Write down a book tagline for that book for the next three days (or however long you choose) -If there's is no suitable video, here is one that might help: http://youtu.
Conclusion
#1. Don't wait until a deadline to start doing something - Just start!! This is by far the most important tip I can give you. You may feel like your life is in a state of disarray or 'mess' or whatever - but that shouldn't stop you from starting something new. Do it now, not later! #2. Whatever you commit to (whether it's reading a book or starting an exercise routine) make sure to do it daily for three days at least, ideally for seven! #3. Find your passion and keep with it, don't rush anything! There's no point developing an interest if you don't continue to cultivate it and nurture it.
