How to Get Rid of Addiction and Abuse

What's the first thing most people think when they see a sign that says "Free Alcohol"? Or what about seeing a building with large, red lights shining out of the windows?

The first being that you're getting alcohol for free - and without any doubt - but this is not always the case. The red lights often indicate that there is no alcohol allowed inside, and in fact, are used as a deterrent to anyone walking by looking for alcohol.
Similiarly, some stores put up signs saying "Free Stuff" or "We Have Free Stuff Inside," giving people an idea that they can get something if they just walk in and see if anything catches their eye.
However, this is not always the case, as with the case of the red lights. Many stores use signs like these to deter people from stealing items or to keep people from thinking that they're giving out free stuff when they're really not.
People Do Things for Free
Although we have all walked inside a store wondering if there will be anything that we'll like - many of us have also done so thinking that there just might be something free inside - but in many cases, this is not true. Like the sign that says "free," most people think that if an item is for sale, it costs money.
Most people do not realize or don't bother to check the fine print on the item or look at their receipt to see how much it costs. When there's a sign promoting a "free" item, many people take this as confirmation that they can get something for nothing - but it's not always the case.
Free Stuff is Not Always Free
Something else you might do when you see a sign saying "Free Stuff Inside" is wonder if there is anything inside that's actually free. All a person has to do is look at the price of the item or check their receipt, and they'll find out that yes, it did cost money.
This is especially true if it's things such as bottles of beer or liquor. Like with most items, alcohol does have a price tag on it - and some "free" items simply cannot be put on sale in stores for this reason.
Paying for Alcohol
We've all heard various people express their opinions about whether or not alcohol should be sold in stores - but ask yourself this question...As a matter of fact, it shouldn't. But even so, alcohol is still one of the most popular types of items sold in stores.
However, think about how much alcohol costs. A cheap bottle of wine or beer can be bought for as little as $3 and as much as $7 - depending on the brand and what type of alcohol you're buying.
If you're someone who likes to drink every once in a while - or if you're someone who drinks on a daily basis - then the price can add up from there. In either case, many people spend more than they'd like to on alcohol and don't always stop to think about how much money it costs them over time.
When You Think About It...
Although it may seem like alcohol is something that people should have to pay for, there are many others who think that alcohol should not. Think about the consequences of alcohol abuse - and think about how much money you'd save if you didn't spend so much on alcohol.
When you realize this, you'll find yourself thinking twice about buying an alcoholic drink. If a store is offering something for free, don't just believe that it's going to be free without looking into the price or details behind the product. Alcohol can cost a lot of money - but so can everything else we buy on a daily basis

In a nutshell, whether or not you think alcohol is worth it, the article above does give us a lot of food for thought. In the end, we can come to our own conclusions about whether we want to make sacrifices in order to drink - or whether we want to drink in moderation.
