Discover Your Path to Success - Part 2

The first step in the process to find your path to success is finding a goal that you want to achieve. What motivates you? What changes would you like to make in your life? “Find out how long it will take, how much money it will require, and how far away from present reality this goal is” (Kanter).

The next step is setting up a daily routine for yourself that includes: what time should I wake up, what should be my morning routine and my evening routine, how long should I spend on each activity throughout the day and which websites can help me out with this. I list what I am doing today on the whiteboard, next to my computer.

The third and most important step is to make a list of your daily activities. List at least three tasks that you want to complete every day and work on improving yourself every day. I set my alarm clock every morning at 6:30, so I have time to shower, eat breakfast, and get dressed.

I then do my morning routine in which I do yoga for 10 minutes, practice singing for 30 minutes and read for 20 minutes a day.

I then check my email for any new leads and call a few people that I am interested in.
I usually read five hours every day, watch a movie, cook dinner and then work on improving myself by writing or reading.

The fourth step is to make a list of all the things you want to achieve in your life. This could be relationships, better health, financial security, etc. “At the end of each week make a list of those goals and fill them in” (Kanter).

The fifth step is to write down all your goals. This could be based on deadlines or experiences. I create a new list everyday and add one of the things that I want to achieve.

The last step is to make an action plan, so you "know what you will have left to do" by the end of the week (Kanter).
I write down all my goals for each day. This helps me map out how much time it will take to achieve them and reminds me every day which goals I need to work on that day. If there are five tasks that need clearing it can be hard for me to know what order I should work through them in but making a list of my goals help me keep track of what I need to do next.

I also use a calendar to keep track of all my goals in order. I mark when I complete each goal and mark down what I need to do next. This makes it easier for me to see how much time has passed, note my progress and plan the future for myself.

The picture shows the benefits that you can get by setting up a daily routine focused on your goals with daily tasks that lead up to these goals being achieved. This is an example of how you can make a difference in your life with just some basic steps, motivating yourself every day along the way.

My first step was setting the time for myself everyday to do the things that I want to. This included getting up early on a regular basis, and doing yoga in the morning. Doing this regularly makes it more natural for me to follow through with it every day and allows me to change my routine as well; for example, if I have an important test or exam in school I can get up at a different time or do yoga later in the day.

The second step I took was learning how long it would take me to achieve my goals. Using this information, I could plan how much time I needed to spend on tasks each day and how much time they would take up in a week or month. I could see how long it would take me to achieve my goals and which steps I would need to complete in order.

The third step was setting up a routine for myself daily. I wake up early, eat breakfast, and do yoga for 10 minutes. I practice singing for 30 minutes and read for 20 minutes a day. This helps me set my goals, achieve them, and become more motivated.

Once I had a routine established through the first step, the second step and the third step it became easy to set up a daily routine in which I could come up with tasks to improve myself on each day of the week. This included writing 5 hours to become an entrepreneur, reading 5 hours to help others and work on a business plan, and finding another business idea.

The fourth step consisted of breaking down my goals into smaller tasks I could later tackle one at a time in order. This way I would know what I had left to do the day after the previous one was completed. It also made it easier for me to see how much time I needed by the end of each week and decide on what new things I would like to achieve that week.

The final step was making an action plan for myself based on what I had achieved. This would show me the next actions I needed to take in order to achieve my goal. It also helped me see how far along I was towards my goal and what time I would need to work on the next step or goal. The picture shows how it works in retrospect.

In order to make this work you must: make a daily routine, break goals down into smaller steps, set a deadline, and create an action plan adding up all your tasks every day as a reminder of where you are currently at in life and planning for the future.

Conclusion

In conclusion, this article shows that you can set yourself up for success in life by setting a daily routine and following it. This can help you achieve your goals. “Showing up to your day is not enough -- you have to go further than that” (Kanter). It is time to start following a daily routine and adding some structure into your life where it is needed.

Actions speak louder than words, so if you are currently not following a morning routine or having difficulty getting started for whatever reason then change it and start doing the things that make you feel good both mentally and physically.
