Counting Your Chicken Before They Hatch!

Counting Your Chicken Before They Hatch!

The theory is that, if you wish for something but don't have the ability to make any concrete plans to get it, you will be more likely to achieve your goal. This phenomenon has been scientifically proven by behavioral psychologists who discovered how people will often overestimate how much effort making a plan takes and underestimate the actual satisfaction of actually achieving their goal.

So why is this concept called "counting your chicken before they hatch" anyway? The term "chickens" can be used as an example of a person's false estimation. Chickens are small and easy-to use as a starting point in attempting to meet one's goal. It would seem logical that, if you know how many chickens it takes to meet your goal, then you can easily count on the possibility of achieving your goal and be more likely to accomplish it in the process. However, chickens are apparently much more difficult to catch than one would initially suspect!

For example, if one were to need a thousand chickens in order to meet their goal of feeding hungry families whom have lost everything in a devastating earthquake, then they could easily plan out where they will find all of these chickens and how they will obtain them. However if that same person would like to raise chickens for their own family's consumption, they would be much less likely to actually fulfill their goal due to the lack of details required.

If you want something but don't have any ability or detail, then you will be more likely to achieve your goal. The key word in this original phrase is "want" because we get so caught up in wanting things that we overlook how difficult it might be to acquire them. So the next time you yearn for some type of object that you are unsure whether or not you can afford, think about how many chickens it will take to obtain your target instead! Of course all bets are off if the object doesn't exist. I mean, it's not like we can count on the chicken being hatched in our backyard! This article is supposed to be empowering, not discouraging. So laugh a little bit at the thought of a promotion that becomes an impossible standard to score!

Conclusion
Search Term: Ask a woman upfront if she wants to have sex . . . so you can avoid rejection and/or false rape accusations.  "Men need to know that no means no, but that doesn't mean maybe." ~ Greg Buelow, Indianapolis Police Department Detective
In the realm of sexual consent, men are easy targets for false rape accusations because the law does not require women to actively resist or say NO. As long as a woman has the capacity to consent (by not being legally intoxicated), then the sexual encounter cannot be deemed non-consensual and any subsequent charges are usually dismissed or reduced.
