To the Salesmen Who Have Prejudged Me. . . . I Want You to Know the Costly Mistakes You Made
You sell me a car, you tell me I'll get $30,000 more in value for my trade-in.
I give you a $10,000 down payment and take on the rest as financing at 4% monthly interest.
After two months of payments, I get an email from Avis saying that my vehicle has been repossessed because I've missed four payments. What's the cost of your mistakes? The start-of-the-checkout fees on my next purchase? That's all it cost to rent the car for more than 32 days.
The point of the story is that there's a cost to the way you do business. And it's not necessarily cash out of my pocket; it's the "costly mistakes" you've made in the past that have caused me to lose confidence.
I drive a Lincoln MKZ and lease it at 6-months/60,000 miles. I was paying $324 per month with no down payment or insurance and no fees. The lights came on today (12/11/2011) that I have to go in for a service EVENTUALLY!!!!! I just asked about the rates for my trade in and I was told $2500.00. Is this a big mistake? It's been over 14 months since I have had this car and my lease is ending in March of 2012.
All I can say is that you should run as fast as you can from this dealership. The service department is one of the worst I've ever been to in my life and their sales department wants you to buy with no down payment or help with the trade-in.
My car is a Ford Fusion. I am leasing and due to join them next month. I was given a $3,000 trade-in and told that I would have $1,123.67 per month for the loan payment. I was then told that I would need to put down a $250 deposit and pay the remaining balance of $5,100 with an APR of 5.99%. When I signed the paperwork, I was told that the APR is 5.99% for the first 6 months and 7.99% for the remaining 4 months.
The sales guy refused to honor his word, which is why I am now shopping around and have contacted Ford Motor Credit who covers Lincoln and Jaguar because they will do anything to make sure their customers are taken care of.
MY EXPERIENCE WITH WEST COAST LINCOLN MERCURY, INC., WAS A NIGHTMARE!! IF YOU ARE READING THIS, PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING: 1.) THEY INTELLIGENTLY LIE TO YOU 2. THEY MAKE YOU THINK YOU HAVE A GOOD DEAL, THEN WHEN YOU SIGN, THE DEAL CHANGES 3. THEY WILL NOT RETURN YOUR CALLS AND BE VERY HARASSING ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR DOWN PAYMENT 4. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO THEIR SERVICE CENTER!! 5. I HAD FOUR WINDOWS GO BLIND IN MY 2008 MKZ 6. I CALLED THEM SEVERAL TIMES AND NO ONE CALLED ME BACK 7. I TOOK THE CAR IN SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY SAID IT WAS FIXED 8. I WAS FOOLED BY THE DEAL AND I HAVE BEEN SCAMMED OUT OF $2,000 9. THEY ARE NO GOOD AND CARE NOT ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS 10. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY, BUT NEVER GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANTED
I am a 16 year old teenager who is about to trade in my 2006 jeep for a brand new 2008 jeep with the hopes of not having payments on it until 2010! I am going to put down $5000 down and pay the remainder on my 2008 jeep. However, I don't have any money with me because I'm only 16 and don't have a job. My mother wanted me to get a credit card so that I could put the $5000 down but I don't have a credit card to do so. my question is if i put the $5000 down on a credit card and the loaner will take that as my down payment, is it possible for me to only pay for the balance of what I owe for the car?
I took my vehicle into Westcoast Lincoln Mercury today for an oil change and was told it would be $60.00 because there was no appointment made. Then when paying they tried to charge me $180.00 for the oil change. After we got out of the car, I noticed that there was oil dripping from the engine area and then was horrified to see that there was a hole in my radiator. The manager tried to tell us it wasn't a hole but just dripped oil and just took off several feet away to talk about it which is why it wasn't discovered until after we had paid. I would like to know if you are dealing with a bunch of unscrupulous people or just greedy, unprofessional people who can't be trusted.
I was searching for information on Mercury as I have been constantly recommended by friends and family. I have bought two cars in the past from GMAC. I was told by them that I would only have to put $500.00 down on a Ford Fusion, but when I called there finance company, I was told that they needed $1850.00 and they gave me the run around so long that I lost my job and ended up going to West Coast Mercury.
I asked for a 2008 Ford Fusion SEL with no money down and low monthly payments, which would be easier on me since i am just getting started in my life. They said it was possible if I put down 5000 dollars which i had at the time and pay the remaining 15000 through financing with 2 months of free payments then after that i would get a 400 dollar increase every 6 months.
Conclusion:
This dealership should be avoided. They are not up front with what the costs of the vehicle will be after trade in, and they lie about monthly payments to get you to sign on the dotted line. I found a better deal that was also better on my credit and yet they are charging me $50 every month more than I owe! How can they do this? Stay away from this place!
After reading many of these horror stories over the years, it is hard to find anything positive to say about this dealership. Everything that people have complained about can be found in the other information: no money down, lied to by salesman when purchasing car, vehicle problems, etc..
