Are You Going To Win? Constantly Qualify Your Opportunities
One of the most common time-wasters we have is the massive perceived opportunity.
Seems like there are a lot of people that constantly qualify their opportunities to make sure that they're going to win.
This is because our first instinct is to go for things that we know we can do well and not be pushed in any way.
I mean we all want to be the best that we can be and to do the best we can possibly do.
We have a natural tendency to see things that look easy and in a direction that we already know and understand but this is a huge waste of time.
In the book out of the Jungle: How I Turned Myself into a Sales Superstar , by James Rinella, he talks about how one of his mentors taught him how to identify opportunities.
His mentor said, "Think of an opportunity like having sex with someone you don't know on an airplane over the Atlantic Ocean."
This is exactly what I mean.
Had he not taken the advice of one of his mentors, he would have missed out on some good opportunities by never qualifying them.
So how can you apply this to your life?
How can you walk around and see yourself as an opportunity rather than a person who is going to fail?
The key is to constantly qualify your opportunities. This means that when you're out walking around, think of all the opportunities around you that might suit what you need and make sure that they're going to work out in your favor.
We must have a purpose and a goal in mind before we step into any situation and this will help you to identify what you want to do.
What is it that you want to achieve?
What is it that you need to do in order for you to be successful?
Take some time, think about the things that go on around you so that when the right opportunities come your way, they will fit with what you want.
So how do we really qualify?
We need to take things step by step.
Being a salesperson and making sales calls, I know this to be true.
It's not always easy, you have to put in the effort and you have to continue stepping through those doors until they open. You have to ask yourself, "Is this going to work? What am I doing here? Am I going to get what I want out of this?"
Many people are scared of being rejected and many other people don't even try because they don't want the feelings that go along with it. But right now is your time and right now is your chance.
If you don't take it, you're going to continue to miss out on so many opportunities.
You are the person that is supposed to be qualified, so take a step forward and do it.
The more you make calls and fill out those notes, the better of a result you are going to have. The higher your ratio will be, the more success you can see right in front of your face.
Stop qualifying everything and go for it! You are where you need to be now. You have the opportunity to make it happen because you're right here with it.
The next time you walk out of your house, don't think about all the challenges that are going to come your way.
You will think about one door that you need to walk through.
Make it a purpose for you to fill out those notes and go for it.
If it's not meant for you, then leave it alone and find something better.
You can make this happen but you have to be willing to do something that is far from what you're used to.
By doing this, you will eventually find yourself in that high ratio of sales and it will get easier and easier each time.
Don't look at the things that scare you but look at what you need to do in order to keep going.
Think of yourself as a salesperson because right now, when you face the opportunity, it's time for one of your big calls or appointments and if they don't work out well, there are always more opportunities around the corner waiting for your next call or appointment.
Don't wait until tomorrow.
Think about what you need to do and hit that call.
Take it one step at a time.
Constantly qualify your opportunities and see yourself as a person that is bringing in the income you need.
You are going for it, you know what to do, and now it's time to move forward with it.
You deserve the best and we all want the best.
It's just a question of doing whatever it is that you have to do in order to get it.
Don't think that there are obstacles when there really aren't any at all.
Don't think that you will ever be better than you can be.
Just go through that door and keep doing what we're doing.
It will pay off and you will see it right in front of your face.
So don't stop!
