Unplug Yourself This Summer... Avoid Running On Fumes

This summer, set your smartphone and laptop down for a while. You might think that it’s impossible to avoid the screens of your personal technology this summer. Allow yourself a break from the constant ping ponging, and enjoy what’s around you. Undoubtedly, there will be so many moments when you can rely on our devices, but try not to depend on them too much in your leisure activities this season. There are plenty of things happening outside of electronics this summer; put your device down and take part in these activities!

Note: It is important that students cite reliable sources with accurate information in order to back up their thesis statements properly. As they do this, they will be able to present their ideas with greater credibility.

I wasn't able to get my hands on the electronic devices and have not been as active in social media as I used to be anyway so I have been letting it go for the time being. I think this is a great opportunity for me to reconnect with my friends and family.

While I haven't been as connected as I used to be, I think this summer is a great opportunity for me to reconnect with my friends and family. There are so many natural activities that people can enjoy such as hiking, swimming, fishing, tennis and sailing just to name a few. There is also the more traditional like going to the beach and going out for walks.

I also think it is a great time to learn more about the environment and take part in more conservation programs as well.

• I am mostly concerned with my health - my weight, my skin and the way I look.
• I would like to lose some weight
• I want to be able to look younger than 30 years old
• Being on Facebook can give me a bad feeling sometimes that someone is talking about me, but in reality it has not been very hard for me and I am enjoying myself very much on Facebook.
• I hope to go on a holiday this summer
• I also hope to see my friends and family again
• My friends and family keep me in contact with them and it is very nice to see them.
• I did not buy any electronic gadgets this summer.

• I don't have a smart phone or a laptop at the moment, so I am not using the Internet at all this summer.
• As I don't have any electronic gadgets at the moment, it's not hard for me to avoid Facebook and Twitter.
• The best thing to do this summer is stay away from electronic devices.
• I am very much into my social life this summer, so there are a lot of times when I am on Facebook, but by connecting with people through phone or SMS means it's easy for me not to be misled.
• This summer I bought a new mobile phone so that is helping me as well.

• I'm in the middle of my PhD. So there is a lot of work to do. But I enjoy it very much.
• It’s been nice to not be connected to social networks these last couple of months. I've been able to enjoy my summer and stay away from computers and the Internet.
• People shouldn't avoid social media but just be careful about what they read, see or write.
• Not having any electronic devices has been nice.

I'm concerned about my health and the beauty products I'm using in the shower, so this month I am choosing to be more natural in my life. And by more natural, of course, I mean more organic and not using that expensive Eau de Parfum spray with 50% perfume + 50% alcohol...(...

Conclusion

For a while, I didn’t own any electronic devices. This was during my school year when I was taking exams and had to focus on academics rather than social media. As you can tell from the list above, being plugged into the Internet is not necessarily a bad thing. There are times when it is necessary and even beneficial for students to use their electronics. However, as we become more educated about the dangers of connected technologies, we should consider taking precautions because technology has a way of becoming addictive (and has already been proven to be that way).
