A Plan Of Action

The thing about life is that sometimes you need a plan of action to get through the day. Whether it's a big project or an overwhelming problem, knowing what to do next can help make the process easier and smoother.

There are plenty of tools out there like planners, notebooks, spreadsheets – but being organized is also key when things get hectic and anything could happen at any moment. That’s why having a list of your goals on hand is essential for your success. It should list what you want to accomplish in life as well as projects that need your attention!

Research the topic of your choice (for example, the best way to be successful in a job interview, how kids can be taught better manners, etc.). Write about it. [ASSIGNMENT DETAILS] [TASK DETAILS]

2.  Create a new blog post about which social media channel you will use to promote your goals, products, services, etc. For example, "I'll use Twitter..."  (please submit new items as separate submissions)

3.  Create a new blog post about what goal of yours (or one of your colleagues) will be completed by the end of 2018 [assignment details]. Optional: include what you will do to create the goal (or if you are having difficulty coming up with something specific, leave the question blank and let our faculty members help in their course blogs).

Submissions (please submit new items as separate submissions)  1.  Design a webpage on your blog (if you don't already have one) containing the following:

a. A half-page bio of yourself explaining who you are (include your role in the class).

b. A half-page bio of another classmate explaining who they are and what they do (this could be a design/copywriting colleague or someone from another business!).

c. Two pictures (that's right, just two) of your product, brand, website, etc.

2.  Design a professional business card that you would like to share with everyone (see above for details). 

3.  Design a colorful and fun flyer (like this one from Uber) promoting your services or the class in general. Feel free to use what you learned in the previous assignment design a half-page bio on yourself and another classmate [assignment details]. [TASK DETAILS]    [INSTRUCTOR COMMENT]

8. Design a flyer promoting someone else (this could be someone in your class or someone who does what you do).

Conclusion:  What are the most important lessons you learned? In what areas do you hope your class improved?

Students that have completed at least two of these main assignments may be eligible for level two or three credits!
